Too Much Outside?

โ€‹โ€‹Summer is well under way, and I love the easy breezy feeling that typically accompanies the season. Thatโ€™s been true especially this year, as people ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ have been more and more reengaging with the world.

Iโ€™ve loved seeing all the fun hashtags over the past few months like summervaxation, hotvaxxedsummer, vaxxedgirlsummer, and so many more expressing the pending joy of being vaccinated in time to enjoy getting together with friends and family.

Forgetting momentarily any concerns over looming covid variants and how they may impact on our hopes and plans ๐Ÿ˜ฌ, the number one thing Iโ€™m hearing from clients is, โ€œTOO MUCH OUTSIDE. Outside is too expensive! Iโ€™m going back inside.โ€ Oh the irony. After more than a year of minimal contact with our loved ones, minimal social plans, and just general cautiousness, here we are overloaded with interaction.

Can you relate? Iโ€™m not surprised. This is why Iโ€™ve been talking so much about CRAFTING your new life blend, and made you this worksheet a few months back. Crafting, AKA being intentional about what you want your life to be and feel like. Without intentionality, weโ€™re just going along, running the risk of reverting to patterns and habits weโ€™d rather leave in the (pre-pandemic) past.

All my exhausted and overwhelmed people are the ones who rushed into the ALL-YES-ALL-THE-TIME plan. When I point this out, they are slapping their foreheads and laughing. Itโ€™s all good โ€” course correcting is simple! Itโ€™s never too late to make a change and add in more structure to your life and choice making.

Look, I know that the idea of becoming more structured doesnโ€™t sound fun or cool, but I assure you structure equals freedom. We NEED structure in our lives. Without a container to manage it all, we are bound to the whims of other peopleโ€™s priorities, and all the flashy and exciting and attention seeking stimuli of life (and social media). Remember, every โ€œYESโ€ you give away is an automatic โ€œNOโ€ to something, perhaps to sleep, downtime, recharging โ€” so make sure you make your yesโ€™s count.
