Vacation all I ever wanted…

Vacation, had to get away…

Seriously. And I’m excited. But getting ready to get away on vacation with a large group of my family has been a little intense, I’ll admit. A chorus of the following has been singing in my mind:

It’s not a good time to get away.
There’s so much to do.
I’m not getting done what I committed to before going.
Laundry, the dog, packing, gah!

I had to seriously remind myself, sigh, it’s just a week, and for goodness sake, going on a vacation is a true luxury, not to be complained about. Also, all the work and more will be here for me when I get back. Get excited already, girl!

I’m so there. I live on the East Coast, and as a former So Cal resident, I learned the hard way that summer is pretty short. The first week after Labor Day can get very COLD very quickly, who knew!? So, I’m making efforts to enjoy the longer warmer days by getting out, getting my 10-15K steps (I’m into it), and leaving my phone in my pocket more to check out what’s going on around me.

I’ve even decided to take it one step further. I’m contemplating not taking my computer with me. Gulp.

On this vacation, I want to enjoy the sun, exercise, spend time with loved ones I don’t see often, meditate, and just all around enjoy.the.moment. Having my computer along strikes me as counter to that agenda. So, I bought a journal, and have all kinds of visions of kicking it old school with pen to paper and fill it with some writing, a lot of thinking, planning and ideas. I’m pretty curious to see what gets sparked!

Will let you know how it works out when I’m back!

This is just the kind of inspiration I need as I plan for my trip to France! I hope you’re having a blast on vacation, and that you don’t see this comment until you get home 🙂

I’m so happy that you were able to put “things” aside and relax and HAVE FUN.
Life is too short and the world we live in too beautiful, not to savour each moment.
Lots of love to the family and especially your man.
