Amber Briggle describes herself as mostly just an unconditionally loving mom, and as the mom of a transgender teen in Texas, she has been through it and then some.

Amber and her family were investigated by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services for child abuse in 2022 after Texas Governor Greg Abbott directed the agency to open such cases against families like theirs. Amber and her family sued the governor along with co-plaintiffs in PFLAG v. Abbott in order to permanently halt these investigations. Amber’s gonna tell us more about that case.

Amber uses her voice constantly to uplift this cause. She’s in the national mix of this conversation and has been, for what I’m sure has seemed like a very, very long time to her, outside of the never ending national headlines.

Amber is a small business owner of Soma Massage Therapy.
